Sustainable Multilingualism 5/2019

The biannual scientific journal “Sustainable Multilingualism” focuses on the phenomenon of multilingualism from versatile perspectives; its scope extends from language policy and applied linguistics (language teaching, learning and acquisition, plurilingual pedagogy, language sensitive teaching) to sociolinguistics, neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics, historical and philosophical linguistics, education science, and other related fields and branches of science. The journal aims at fostering sustainable multilingualism, linguistic human rights, language ecology, acquisition and maintenance of plurilingual competence (individual multilingualism) and development of societal multilingualism, intercultural communication, learning and maintenance of the languages of neighboring countries and less widely taught and learnt languages; therefore, the research will be published in various languages, presenting comprehensive summaries in Lithuanian and English.

The journal was established by Vytautas Magnus University science cluster “Research in Plurilingual Competence Development” H-08-09, published by the Institute of Foreign Languages. Since 2017 the online version of the journal has been published by SCIENDO (former DE GRUYTER OPEN). Managed and Published using Open Journal System. iThenticate system is used to check for plagiarism in the journal. All published articles have assigned DOI numbers.
