Au revoir anglais: English may not be an official EU language after Brexit (Daily Sabah))

Danuta Hubner, an EP official has said that English can be taken out of the list of officially recognized languages of the European Union. Adding that English could stay as a working language, she added that it may no longer be officially recognized. In the bloc, United Kingdom is the only country that made English an official language. A possible drop of it would anger Irish and reduce London's influence

English, the world's global language and the main working tongue of European Union institutions, may no longer be an official language of the bloc once Britain leaves it, a senior EU lawmaker said on Monday.
